In the darkness of night, in the black final hours
She drifts a witchlight, among nightshade flowers
And shuns mortal men, with their wild-eyed stare
Through forest and glen, rides the Somerset Mare
Once mortal, once girl, turned now, by the Mage
Unrequited lover, to bring her to the cage
She runs in the woods, her true love forlorn
He searches to find her, his lover's heart torn
Yet one day they shall marry, as fey lovers do
For dread Fate must yield, to hearts that ring true
The spell will be broken, but for now she remains
The Somerset Mare, running wild, without reins
In the darkness of night, in the black final hours
She drifts a witchlight, among nightshade flowers
And shuns mortal men, with their wild-eyed stare
Through forest and glen, rides the Somerset Mare
